Biography

Femke Marije Wiersma was born on 29 December 1984 in Dokkum, Netherlands. She grew up on her family's dairy farm and pursued her education in agricultural sciences. After graduating, she returned to the farm and became a dairy farmer.

In addition to farming, Wiersma became known for her involvement in the agricultural industry. She served as a columnist for De Boerin, a Dutch agricultural magazine, for several years.

Political Career

Wiersma's political career began in 2019 when she joined the BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB), a Dutch political party representing the interests of farmers and rural communities.

In 2023, she was elected as the BBB's provincial deputy for agriculture for the province of Friesland. In this role, she is responsible for agricultural policy and development.

Personal Life

Wiersma is married and has four children. She lives with her family on their dairy farm in Holwert, Netherlands.

Activism

Wiersma is an active advocate for farmers' rights and rural communities. She has organized protests and lobbied for policies that support agriculture and protect the interests of farmers.

She is also a supporter of animal welfare and sustainability in farming practices.
